A History of “The Simpsons” in Video Games
Virtual Bart

Developer: Sculptured Software
Publisher: Acclaim Entertainment
Platforms: SNES, Sega Genesis
Release Date: September 1994
In 1994, Acclaim Entertainment released the last Bart-centred side-scrolling platformers which at this point included nine Bart titles. Virtual Bart features Bart trapped inside a virtual reality machine at the local science fair. The game is similar to previously released Bart’s Nightmare but includes Bart going through transformations as a baby, a pig, and a dinosaur. Multiple levels include standard platforming as well as first-person shooter, and racing. The game received average reviews and was praised for its uniqueness between the individual levels.

There's got to be some kind of twist that's going to happen with this. I don't know if they're setting up an April Fool's joke now or what's going on, but it seems too strange that they'd suddenly reverse on doing a fourth and fifth season after the show was already renewed and they were even just talking about working on those seasons like a couple months ago or something. Or maybe the two episodes yet to release will secretly somehow each be like a "season" in themselves?
