A History of “The Simpsons” in Video Games
The Simpsons

Developer: Konami, Novotrade
Publisher: Konami
Platforms: Arcade, Commodore 64, MS-DOS
Release Date: March 1991
Directly after the release of Bart vs the Space Mutants, The Simpsons (video game) was released to arcades across the country. The side-scrolling beat ‘em up was much more successful than the previous Simpsons game. Besides the graphics being much more in-line with the series animation, you could also play with four players, each representing a member of the family. The goal is to recover baby Maggie, who has been kidnapped by Waylon Smithers as he releases goons to stop the family from following him. The arcade game was quickly ported to the Commodore 64 and MS-DOS and received positive reviews, even being named one of the best cartoon-based games of all-time.

There's got to be some kind of twist that's going to happen with this. I don't know if they're setting up an April Fool's joke now or what's going on, but it seems too strange that they'd suddenly reverse on doing a fourth and fifth season after the show was already renewed and they were even just talking about working on those seasons like a couple months ago or something. Or maybe the two episodes yet to release will secretly somehow each be like a "season" in themselves?
