English Dub Review: Fate Strange Fake “This Illusion Becomes Reality”
Overview
Francesca and the others descend into a dream realm filled with chaos.
Our Take
Picking up from the previous episode, the season finale delivers a spectacle-driven conclusion packed with large-scale action and pivotal character moments. Multiple storylines converge as key relationships finally solidify, giving certain dynamics a stronger emotional payoff. At the same time, the episode leans heavily into chaos and intensity, with supernatural threats and shifting alliances pushing everything toward a dramatic endpoint. While there are a few surprising developments that stand out, some moments feel rushed or overly convenient due to the sheer amount of material being covered.
In terms of visuals and sound, this episode is easily at its strongest. The animation during major confrontations is striking, and the soundtrack enhances the scale and emotion of the biggest scenes. Some characters benefit from meaningful development, particularly those driven by conviction and admiration, but others are left underexplored because of the overcrowded cast. The pacing remains a noticeable issue, with dense lore and rapid transitions making parts of the story harder to follow. Even so, the energy and ambition behind the episode keep it engaging from start to finish.
Overall, this finale is an exciting yet imperfect conclusion that prioritizes spectacle over cohesion. It delivers memorable action and strong emotional beats, but also highlights the limitations of its rushed pacing and narrative overload. The story is clearly left open for a Season 2 to happen, which is hopefully not too far away, as there’s still plenty left unresolved. If given more time to properly develop its characters and plotlines, the series has the potential to elevate itself even further.
