Jeremy Renner to Star in ‘Stardust Future,’ the First Feature-Length Film Created Entirely with AI
Jeremy Renner is set to star in a groundbreaking new project: Stardust Future: Stars and Scars, an animated feature film that its creators are billing as the first feature-length movie produced entirely using artificial intelligence.
The film, which is targeting a November theatrical release, will feature the Hawkeye star as the voice of the Oracle of Time, a narrator guiding the audience through a sweeping story that covers the universe’s origin up to the year 2080.
A New Vision of Animation
The ambitious project is the brainchild of filmmaker Yi Zhou, who previously collaborated with Renner on the documentary Chronicles of Disney. Zhou’s production company, Into the Sun Entertainment, emphasizes that Stardust Future utilizes AI not as a replacement for human creativity, but as an “extension of memory” and a tool to “enhance possibilities.”
- Production Technique: The film blends 2D and 3D animation techniques, which Zhou has trademarked as a “distinct narrative approach.” The visual style is designed to reflect “thematic contrasts between past and present, imagination and reality.”
- Thematic Focus: Zhou stated, “I asked AI to tell me about our past and show me our future. My team and I used AI… to heal what humanity has broken and to dream of what we will become.”
The movie’s score will feature Zhou’s original works, with music by the late Ennio Morricone, arranged by the Into the Sun Collective. In addition to Renner, the film will feature a digital 3D rendering of renowned fashion designer Diane von Fürstenberg.
Awards and Philanthropy
The project marks Renner’s return to voice acting following his near-fatal snowplow accident in 2023. Into the Sun Entertainment is planning an awards campaign for the 2026 Academy Awards, aiming for nominations in categories including Best Animated Feature, Original Score, and Visual Effects.
A portion of the revenue generated by Stardust Future: Stars and Scars will be donated to two charities: Renner’s Rennervation Foundation, which supports foster youth, and the Motion Picture and Television Fund, which assists entertainment industry workers impacted by the January 2025 California wildfires.

"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
