English Dub Review: My Hero Academia “The End of an Era, and the Beginning”

Overview:

All Might receives help from an unexpected source when Stain joins him in the battle against All For One.

Our Take(Spoilers):

One thing I forgot to mention last week concerns the movies. We’ve been told they’re canon, but most have never been mentioned again. Last week, when All Might was showing off his snazzy new armor, he mentioned the company Hercules and a friend from America. The aforementioned friend was Melissa Shields from the very first movie, and I like that, even though it’s minor, we got to see a nod to one of the movies at least.

I understand that All for One is the main villain and can have a ton of quirks, but sometimes it gets annoying. Last week’s episode ended with Stain using his blood-curdling quirk to stop All for One in his tracks. Only wouldn’t you know that All for One has the EXACT combination of quirks needed to solve that problem. He had one that expelled all the blood from his body and another that changed his blood type. I don’t know why that would be helpful, but it was. It would have been nice to see Stain get a moment of redemption, and in a sense, I think he did, but it ended with a whimper. I hate when the heroes get cop-outs like that, and I hate it when the villains get one too.
