The Simpsons: Aussie’s FOXTEL To Lose Series After Almost Three Decades

Right now in America we are dealing with an adult animation invasion from Australia that is only going to get bigger in the coming years. The likes of Michael Cusack, Nikos Andronicos, and others are proving that years of watching The Simpsons in a country that deems the franchise not just a TV show, but a religion, is paying off in the forms of their own solid contributions to the adult animation space. This reach has fed well over into neighboring countries like New Zealand, Singapore, and others, which has continued to shepherd multiple upbringings of original content, a lot of which we don’t even get to see.

In any event, The Simpsons on FOXTel will be departing effective January 1st along with all of the other 20th Television Animation-owned series that will be making it’s way over to Disney+ which includes Family Guy, Bobs Burgers, Futurama and American Dad.

Our Take

Personally, I would like to see Australian producers respond with their own takes on animated franchises that could premiere on FOXTel. There are still some up and coming producers for adult animation in the Australia area that would do very well and inspire that next generation of producers.
