Tubi TV Gets Funding For Marketing/Infrastructure

But not content, and as we know, content is king.

Ad-supported but free streaming TV service, Tubi TV has secured a Series C round of funding for $20 million that the company says will be used to add infrastructure and to market to its existing user base.

Tubi claims that they have the second largest library of content to that only of Netflix, but in the world of animation, it’s not even close. Today, Tubi TV has some second-hand anime, while Netflix boasts titles that have been acquired as well as original productions for all kinds of animation including anime while Tubi TV has shown no signs of investing in original entertainment.

Variety reports that Tubi TV also has more app downloads than Seeso, Crunchyroll, and Drama Fever. Note, that while Seeso’s future looks uncertain, both Crunchyroll and Drama Fever predominately features subtitled content.
