Daniel Chong’s Essay on Why He Created “We Bare Bears” Is Excellent
This show has purpose.
Even days later, there are people absolutely terrified of the prospect of Donald Trump winning the 2016 Election to be the new President-Elect of these United States. Despite the fact that I voted Democrat this election, I’m not one of them.
We Bare Bears creator Daniel Chong tapped into these worries and used an inspirational story on how he developed the concept of three bears trying to fit into a world of humans. As an Asian American, Daniel helped create a story on how just being a little different in today’s America comes with certain baggage. Granted the baggage of being cute bears is a tad different, the premise is similar and you can read more of what Daniel’s thoughts are on equality in today’s America here.
We Bare Bears has new episodes every Thursday Night only on Cartoon Network, read our review of the latest episode entitled “The Library” here.
