Sofia Vergara to Play Bart’s New Teacher on ‘The Simpsons’
Sofia Vergara will have a role in the upcoming season of The Simpsons as Bart’s attractive new teacher, Mrs. Berrera, show officials have confirmed.
In the episode, Bart drinks a hormone-filled milk substitute and develops both a mustache and feelings for his instructor. “She’s more forgiving than Mrs. Krabappel was of Bart,” Executive Producer Al Jean revealed. “She pays special attention to him.”
Apparently, a love triangle also forms between her, Bart, and Principal Skinner. “We thought it’d be interesting if both Bart and Skinner have a crush on the same woman,” Jean said. “She feels Skinner is a wounded soul that she wants to take care of. She is a vet like Skinner, and that’s his attraction.”
And it might not be a one-off guest stint either. Following the 2013 passing of Marcia Wallace, the voice of Bart’s regular teacher Mrs. Krabappel, Vergara will have an open door at The Simpsons. Especially considering Modern Family shares the same studio.
As was previously reported, there are no plans to kill off Mrs. K, with the character simply becoming a background figure instead.
Vergara’s first episode will be titled “Teenage Mutant Milk-Caused Hurdles,” and is expected to air in the middle of season 27, beginning on September 27th.

There's got to be some kind of twist that's going to happen with this. I don't know if they're setting up an April Fool's joke now or what's going on, but it seems too strange that they'd suddenly reverse on doing a fourth and fifth season after the show was already renewed and they were even just talking about working on those seasons like a couple months ago or something. Or maybe the two episodes yet to release will secretly somehow each be like a "season" in themselves?
