Disney+ Unveils First Trailer for ‘The Doomies,’ a Spooky Supernatural Adventure from Xilam Animation

Disney+ is dropping anchors in spooky waters this summer. Disney+ has officially unveiled the trailer and key art for The Doomies, an upcoming 2D supernatural comedy-adventure series produced in collaboration with the Academy Award-nominated French powerhouse Xilam Animation (I Lost My Body, Oggy and the Cockroaches).

The 22-episode half-hour series is locked in to premiere June 26, 2026, on Disney+. Alongside the main series debut, the platform will also launch a companion short-form series featuring four episodes: “Doug Unfiltered,” “Ghosted By A Ghost,” “Creepy Crepe,” and “What Is That Thing?”

Portals, Monsters, and Teen Drama

The Doomies blends high-stakes supernatural thrills with a healthy dose of coming-of-age comedy. The series follows best friends Bobby and Romy, two ordinary teenagers living in a quiet, tranquil coastal town. Their ordinary lives are completely upended when they accidentally open a portal to evil, turning their serene home into an immediate hotspot for terrifying creatures of doom.

As the duo attempts to fix their massive blunder and navigate the extraordinary mystery behind the outbreak, they are forced to square off against literal underworld monsters while simultaneously dealing with their own inner teen angst and emotional hurdles.

Behind the Animation & Voice Cast

The project represents a major co-production milestone between Xilam Animation and Disney Television Animation. The series is co-created by Andrés Fernandez, Rémi “Pozla” Zaarour, and Henry Gifford. Fernandez, a veteran of Xilam’s highly stylized catalog, directs all 22 episodes of the flagship run, while Xilam founder Marc du Pontavice serves as executive producer.

The series features a robust voice cast, anchored by:

  • Max Mittelman (Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug & Cat Noir) as Bobby

  • Madison Calderon (Monsters at Work) as Romy

  • Noel Gibson as Kim

  • Jon Bailey (Honest Trailers) as Doug

  • Zhra Fazal (Young Justice) as Jenny

Heading to Annecy 2026

Ahead of its global streaming launch on June 26, The Doomies is already making waves on the international festival circuit. The series has been selected to screen in official competition at the prestigious 2026 Annecy International Animation Film Festival (running June 21–27) in the TV Films category.

Proving the show’s early creative strength, its specific standout episode, “Night of the Fishing Dead,” was chosen by festival programmers from a massive pool of more than 2,400 global submissions.

With its sharp 2D aesthetic, European animation pedigree, and a narrative sweet spot that echoes fan-favorite supernatural comedies like Gravity Falls, The Doomies looks poised to be a standout addition to Disney’s summer animation slate.
