English Dub Review: The Legendary Hero is Dead! “The Legendary Hero Is a Skeleton!”

Overview:

The party makes it to the royal capital hoping to get some funds, but Touka will first have to learn to navigate the challenges of his new body…

Our Take:

So here’s the thing: this guy is stuck in a deteriorating body, right? The group needs to find a way to get Touka’s mana up so that he can maintain this body but it doesn’t seem like a solution will present itself anytime soon. When there are plot points like this I tend to have a bit of a love-hate relationship with it. Sure it makes for easy stakes in how to power the hero up but when you start them off so weak then they just become able to do normal tasks then it takes a bit of the fun out of it to me.

Now Touka is asking the king for money which I think we all thought was going to be easy. No way the king denies the hero some money he needs to keep the world safe right? Well we would have been wrong because apparently, the hero denied all claims to a reward the last time he was here. So Touka had no choice (for some reason) but say that he was here to claim the hand of the princess has his bride. Now I’m no fortune teller but something tells me that when the rest of the group finds out it’s not going to go over too well.
