MTV Classic to launch next week with chock full of MTV Animation!

Let’s break out those Bill Plympton interstitials!

There was a time when no network on television could touch MTV when it came to animation. Beavis & Butthead, Aeon Flux, and others are just a few of the notables when we think of some of the franchises that had appeared on the network over the years. MTV proper has recently jumped back into the animated foray with Best Party Story Ever but that’s it.

Well, that could all be changing now. Exit VH1 Classic and enter MTV Classic. A brand-new network that will feature classic prime-time programming like Beavis & Butthead, Daria, Clone High, Wonder Showzen, and a whole lot more. The programming block will run from Mondays through Thursdays from 10am to 1 am ET.

Imagine if this does really well and MTV starts to un-cancel some of this shit? Imagine if this does well, and MTV starts to pick up some NEW animated programming? These possibilities are now open. VH1 Classic used to air original programming all of the time so I don’t think this notion is too far off.
