Primal Season Three Home Released Announced

The brutal, prehistoric saga of Spear and Fang is coming to physical media once again. Warner Bros. Discovery Home Entertainment has officially announced the home video release of “Genndy Tartakovsky’s Primal: The Complete Third Season,” scheduled to hit shelves on June 30, 2026.

Following its high-stakes broadcast run on Adult Swim earlier this year, the third season will be available on both Blu-ray ($29.98 MSRP) and DVD ($24.98 MSRP).

A Season of Resurrection

Season 3 of the five-time Emmy-winning series takes one of the boldest narrative risks in modern animation. Picking up after the devastating events of the Season 2 finale, the story opens with a shocking twist: Spear is resurrected in a new, undead form. Stripped of his memories and his humanity, he must roam a savage, untamed world as a hollow shadow of his former self.

As Spear battles lethal new foes and unforgiving landscapes, faint echoes of his past life—and his bond with the T-Rex, Fang—begin to stir. This internal struggle leads toward an emotional and explosive reunion that tests the very limits of survival in a world that refuses to let him rest.

Technical Specs and Bonus Features

The complete set will include all 10 episodes of the third season. While specific bonus features are still to be fully confirmed by Warner Bros., the release is expected to include behind-the-scenes content detailing the unique production challenges of this “resurrected” season.

Tartakovsky’s Vision

Series creator Genndy Tartakovsky (Samurai Jack, Star Wars: Clone Wars) continues to push the boundaries of visual storytelling in Season 3. Working alongside art director Scott Wills and composers Tyler Bates and Joanne Higginbottom, the team has crafted a season that leans even further into the pulpy, “weird fantasy” influences of Robert E. Howard’s Conan and Solomon Kane.

By stripping Spear of his speech and even his memory, Tartakovsky doubles down on the show’s signature “silent” storytelling, relying entirely on posture, gait, and brutal action to convey deep emotional stakes.

“Genndy Tartakovsky’s Primal: The Complete Third Season” is currently available for pre-order at major retailers.
