English Dub Review: The Fruit of Evolution: Before I Knew It, My Life Had It Made “Gempel the Doppelganger”
Overview:
While Seiichi is away from the Academy in the Wimberg Kingdom, Gempel the Doppelganger casts off his disguise as Airi and attacks each of Seiichi’s allies in different guises.
Our Take:
I was really sad watching this episode, poor Gempel just wanted to not be made fun of and to have some friends in his life. While trying to kill everyone important to Seiichi he learned just how nice it is to be accepted and cared for. I swear that would solve most villains’ problems it seems like if they had just grown up with a little more love and compassion who knows what could have happened.
The most concerning part is when he decided to impersonate Seiichi and no one could tell that it was somebody different. Nobody that is except for Kannazuki, who somehow managed to figure out it wasn’t him because Gempel “smelled too clean”. Sorry to break it to you Seiichi but if this is how people are confirming it’s you that isn’t a good thing.
This anime continues to be a wild and fun romp. It isn’t going to win any big awards but it’s a light novel adaptation at its core and a solid isekai and you all know how much I love those.

There's got to be some kind of twist that's going to happen with this. I don't know if they're setting up an April Fool's joke now or what's going on, but it seems too strange that they'd suddenly reverse on doing a fourth and fifth season after the show was already renewed and they were even just talking about working on those seasons like a couple months ago or something. Or maybe the two episodes yet to release will secretly somehow each be like a "season" in themselves?
