This week’s episode helps really highlight Elizabeth as best as we’ve seen so far this season. The fourth episode of Rooster Fighter marks a tonal shift for the series, moving from its signature parody-action toward a more grounded story about financial hardship.
The episode centers on a village where the adult population has been effectively brainwashed by a Demon. At the heart of the interpersonal drama is the father of a boy named Sei. Driven by an obsession with money, Sei’s father eventually succumbs to his desires, nearly leading to a permanent transformation into a mutant demon.
While the village deals with external demons, the stoic rooster hero, Keiji, faces a more biological challenge. The episode introduces a comedic but persistent hurdle for the protagonist: a high-frequency “rut” that leaves him distracted and desperate to find a mate.
The anime adaptation of Rooster Fighter continues to so stupid it’s brilliant approach, essentially functioning as a One-Punch Man parody starring a rooster. However, Episode 4 demonstrates that the show can balance its ridiculous premise with genuine character growth and social commentary on poverty and greed.
