English Dub Review: Overgeared “Family’s Trust”
Overview
Grid continues his blacksmithing. He puts up an epic armor for auction, and gets a request for more.
Our Take
Picking up from the previous episode, Grid’s blacksmithing antics are finally attracting attention, allowing him to earn money and support his family. However, his terrible luck and questionable financial decisions continue to get in the way, creating plenty of amusing moments. His parents’ skepticism toward making money through a game is understandable, but his reactions to their conversations make for some hilarious comedy.
Grid remains an entertaining protagonist thanks to his exaggerated reactions, constant complaints to customer service, and enthusiastic shouting of “EPIC!! UNIQUE!! LEGENDARY!!” His determination to help his family adds some heart to his otherwise greedy personality, while Khan continues to be a particularly likable supporting character. The animation is enjoyable, and the English dub delivers some memorable jokes that make Grid’s misadventures even funnier.
Overall, this episode delivers an entertaining mix of RPG tropes, comedic misfortune, and satisfying crafting moments. However, the story could benefit from more meaningful progress, as Grid’s repeated financial setbacks occasionally make things feel stagnant. Still, his hilarious personality and growing blacksmithing abilities keep things engaging, leaving me curious to see what adventures await him next.
