Picking up from the previous episode, We’ve reached the season finale, as Alicia’s confrontation with Milea reaches its conclusion as the two finally come to an understanding. Meanwhile, Klen faces Vordin in a brutal battle as the truth behind Toah begins to surface, forcing the group to deal with a threat far greater than they initially realized. With the major conflicts seemingly reaching their conclusion, the characters begin tying up loose ends while learning more about the mysterious forces shaping their world.

The finale delivers plenty of memorable moments, particularly Alicia awakening her second crest and finally being acknowledged as a true hero. The animation and music continue to elevate the larger battles, while Milea’s development provides one of the episode’s more entertaining character moments. Although the season’s slower school-focused storyline and dense lore may not have worked for everyone, the final stretch does a great job expanding the mythology and setting up some intriguing possibilities for the future.

Overall, this was a surprisingly eventful conclusion that manages to answer some questions while leaving plenty more hanging in the air. The episode takes several unexpected turns and closes with a bold cliffhanger that completely changes the direction of the story. And if you stay after the credits, there’s an additional scene that only adds to the mystery and makes the wait for a potential third season even more intriguing. Even if this season felt more uneven than the first, there’s clearly plenty more to explore in this world.
