Our Take

Picking up from the previous episode, Bungo Stray Dogs Wan! reaches its season finale by once again trading the main series’ intense battles and darker machinations for a much more relaxed day with the Armed Detective Agency. The episode features several short comedic scenarios with the cast, plenty of playful character interactions, and the everyday absurdity that makes this spin-off so different from its source material.

The finale also does a nice job of bringing the season together with a few fun callbacks and familiar faces, while maintaining the simple slice-of-life approach that has defined Wan! throughout its run. The humor can be hit-or-miss depending on how familiar you are with the characters, but there’s an undeniable charm in seeing them placed in more mundane situations. The animation and presentation remain fitting for the show’s deliberately cute and comedic style.

Overall, Bungo Stray Dogs Wan! ends its season on a lighthearted note that should satisfy fans looking for something considerably more relaxed than the main series. While some of the jokes are stronger than others, the short format keeps things moving without allowing any one gag to overstay its welcome. It may not offer anything particularly substantial, but as a fun side story featuring the cast in their most playful form, it makes for an enjoyable and appropriately silly finale.
