VICE TV Partners with Animation+ for New Late-Night Block ‘Animation+ Mixtape’

Creator-driven FAST channel and AVOD streamer Animation+ is taking its curated slate of indie adult animation to cable. The platform has announced a strategic partnership with VICE TV to launch Animation+ Mixtape, a new two-hour weekly late-night programming block premiering Friday, August 14, 2026.

The block will air every Friday and Saturday night from 12:00 AM to 2:00 AM ET/PT, featuring a rotating blend of independent animated comedy, cult favorites, original shorts, and boundary-pushing indie series.

Bringing Indie Animation to Linear Cable

Co-founded in 2024 by Evan Weiss and John Fitzpatrick, Animation+ has built a footprint across major FAST platforms—including Tubi, Roku, Samsung TV Plus, Vizio WatchFree+, Hisense VIDAA, and Plex—serving as a launchpad for creator-owned projects spanning comedy, horror, sci-fi, and satire.

The deal with VICE TV bridges the gap between digital-first FAST distribution and traditional cable, giving independent animators linear exposure to an established audience known for seeking out counter-culture and unconventional programming.

“VICE has always had a talent for championing voices that don’t fit neatly into traditional media, and that’s exactly what Animation+ was built to celebrate. Our Animation+ Mixtape content block brings together some of today’s most original independent animators, and we couldn’t ask for a more fitting platform to introduce their work to wider audiences.”

Programming & Leadership

The block is spearheaded by Animation+’s Head of Content & Programming, Niall Madden, who will oversee the curated mix of original shorts, acquisition titles (such as Adult Swim’s Psi Cops and original series like Toon World Express), and featured indie animation.

“Our audience craves edgy, distinct, and original voices that push boundaries, and we’re proud to partner with Animation+ to showcase some of the best independent animated content available today.”
