After returning to the Academy, Leon has a tea party with Clarice and Deirdre, only for it to be interrupted when soldiers enter the room to arrest Leon, accusing him of treason after finding evidence of a Principality plot to rebel against the Kingdom. Leon is perplexed by this, but is unaware that the fake evidence was planted by Miauler, Jenna’s servant, on Malcolm’s orders.


Our Take

Picking up from the previous episode, Trapped in a Dating Sim continues Leon’s increasingly ridiculous situation as political tensions begin closing in around him. After returning to the Academy, Leon suddenly finds himself accused of treason and thrown into custody, leaving him understandably confused about what is actually happening. While the episode introduces some heavier political developments, it still maintains the series’ trademark absurdity, particularly through Leon’s attitude and the increasingly chaotic attempts to deal with his predicament. The episode does a good job of escalating the conflict without giving away where everything ultimately leads.

One of the more enjoyable aspects is how the story continues to play with the relationships between Leon, Angelica, Olivia, and the rest of the cast. Their determination to help Leon gives the characters more emotional weight while still fitting the series’ comedic tone. At the same time, the growing conflict between the Kingdom and the Principality provides a stronger sense of danger heading into the next stage of the story. Thankfully, the episode keeps the details vague enough that the major developments remain more intriguing than predictable.

Overall, this was a solid continuation that balances political intrigue, character drama, and the ridiculous comedy that makes Trapped in a Dating Sim so entertaining. The English dub deserves special credit here, as the cast adds an extra layer of humor to Leon’s already sarcastic personality. Jordan Dash Cruz, in particular, continues to be a perfect fit for Leon, delivering his smug reactions, exaggerated frustration, and deadpan attitude in a way that makes many scenes even funnier. The series may not have the strongest visual presentation, but when the writing, characters, and dub are firing on all cylinders, it remains an easy show to have fun with.
