English Dub Review: Tomb Raider King “The One Who Stole the Future”
Overview
The Future Guide hints at a powerful relic that will be up for auction in Las Vegas.
Our Take
Picking up from the previous episode, Tomb Raider King takes a lighter and more comedic turn while finally introducing Irene Houlton, the blonde woman teased in the opening. Her cool, composed personality feels right at home in Las Vegas, and the shift in tone is a welcome change after several more serious episodes. Joo-heon’s latest adventure delivers plenty of entertaining moments while continuing to move the story forward.
Irene quickly proves to be an intriguing addition to the cast, with her unusual connection to misfortune making her both a potentially valuable ally and a major headache for Joo-heon. Their interactions provide some of the episode’s funnier moments, while the growing focus on powerful relics raises interesting questions about how their abilities may clash or complement one another. Meanwhile, Joo-heon’s calculated decisions surrounding the Book of Prophecies further highlight how far ahead he’s willing to think.
Overall, this was a solid and surprisingly funny episode that expands Joo-heon’s circle while continuing to set up larger conflicts involving characters like Taejoon. Irene brings a fun new dynamic to the series, and the increasingly unpredictable relics keep the adventure engaging. Although the animation remains a weak point, the show’s bizarre characters, chaotic energy, and over-the-top premise continue to make it an entertaining watch.
