Our Take
Picking up from the previous episode, the season finale introduces an energetic new rival whose arrival throws Juzo and Noren into another unexpected challenge. As tensions rise, an unusual competition takes shape, leading the Home Economics Club on a lively training trip while an upcoming parent-teacher conference creates another hilarious obstacle for Juzo.
Beyond the laughs, the season finale gives Juzo one of his most meaningful moments of self-reflection, as he begins to question what kind of future he truly wants, and this is a big deal since, compared to the school life he’s experiencing now, he previously grew up being deprived of a standard school education when he was molded into a Hitman. The emotional beats land surprisingly well without overshadowing the series’ signature humor, and the chemistry between the cast remains one of its biggest strengths. Combined with an entertaining finale and a touching closing scene, the episode does an excellent job of wrapping up the first cour while building anticipation for what’s ahead.
Overall, this was a fun and satisfying conclusion to the first season, delivering plenty of comedy, heart, and memorable character moments. Thankfully, viewers won’t be left waiting in uncertainty, as Season 2 has already been announced, making the finale’s setup even more exciting. While it’s unfortunate the manga was cut short, the anime still has plenty of momentum, leaving me genuinely looking forward to seeing where Juzo’s journey goes next.
