English Dub Review: The Most Heretical Last Boss Queen “The Cruel Queen Makes a Declaration”
Overview:
With Leon and the Anemone Kingdom destined to fall into ruin, Pride confronts the conspirators directly.
Our Take:
Pride confronts Leon’s brothers about their plans to oust their brother so that they could be the heirs to the kingdom. At first, I was confused because they made it sound like Leon marrying Pride would make it so he couldn’t inherit the throne because he couldn’t rule from a different country. So while I still don’t understand why they felt the need to drug him in an effort to get him exiled, I can appreciate the fact that events are sticking to the game, I guess.
As you’d expect from one of these villains shows, where the villain is super good in this version of events, Leon falls for Pride. When she is preparing to leave Leon’s kingdom, he thanks her for helping him and for being his first love. He then proceeds to kiss her on the cheek, and she freaks out. She chalks it up to him being the flirty archetype from the game, and while that may be true, I think there’s no denying that his feelings are genuine. There hasn’t been a single person who hasn’t fallen in love with Pride, except for maybe Val, and even then, I’m not so sure. With this arc concluding, I wonder what’s in store for us with the next one.
