Propane, Retirement, and the Dallas Commute: King of the Hill Season 15 Stakes Its Claim at Hulu
King of the Hill will return for its 15th season on Monday, July 20th only on Hulu/Disney+.
The announcement comes from creators Mike Judge and Greg Daniels, marking the second season of the show’s highly successful revival. Following a record-breaking Season 14 that premiered in August 2025, Hulu has leaned heavily into the Arlen-verse, already greenlighting Seasons 16 and 17.
Plot: Retirement and Adulting in Arlen
Season 15 continues the revival’s “time jump” narrative, moving the timeline forward roughly 15 years from the original series finale. According to the official synopsis:
-
Hank and Peggy Hill are settling into retirement on Rainey Street. However, retirement hasn’t mellowed them; the couple is reportedly spending their time trying to keep their eccentric neighbors—Dale, Bill, and Boomhauer—from “going off the rails.”
-
Bobby Hill, now 21 years old, is navigating the pressures of adulthood. Living in Dallas and pursuing a career as a chef, Bobby faces the stresses of being an entrepreneur while trying to maintain his old friendships from Arlen.
The Cast and Production
The series continues to be produced by Bandera Entertainment and showrun by Saladin K. Patterson.
Returning Voice Talent:
-
Mike Judge reprises his roles as Hank Hill and Boomhauer.
-
Kathy Najimy returns as Peggy Hill.
-
Pamela Adlon continues to voice Bobby Hill (the creators famously decided to keep Adlon rather than recasting for an adult Bobby to preserve the character’s iconic sound).
-
Stephen Root returns as Bill Dauterive.
-
Lauren Tom reprises her roles as Minh and Connie Souphanousinphone.
Notable Changes:
-
Dale Gribble: Following the 2023 passing of Johnny Hardwick, the role of Dale has been taken over by Toby Huss (who previously voiced Cotton Hill and Kahn). Season 14 featured the final recordings from Hardwick, making Season 15 the first to fully feature Huss in the role.
-
Kahn Souphanousinphone: In a move toward more authentic casting, Ronny Chieng (Daily Show, Shang-Chi) has taken over the role of Kahn from Toby Huss.
Upcoming Preview at Annecy
Fans won’t have to wait until July for a first look. Mike Judge, Greg Daniels, and Saladin K. Patterson are scheduled to appear at the Annecy International Animation Film Festival in June 2026. Judge will receive the Honorary Cristal award and lead a masterclass, during which a pre-release preview of Season 15 is expected to be screened.
All 10 episodes of Season 15 will drop simultaneously on July 20, 2026, available on Hulu and via the Hulu on Disney+ bundle.
