Screen Australia Unveils $20.4M Funding Round for Diverse Animated Narratives

Screen Australia has announced a significant $20.4 million investment in production and development funding, supporting a total of 91 narrative projects. This round is particularly notable for debuting the Short Film Production Funding Program, marking the agency’s return to direct investment in short-form storytelling—a crucial stepping stone for emerging filmmakers.

While the funding covers a wide array of content, several adult-leaning and general-audience animated projects have taken center stage.

The Art of Murder

The Art Of Murder is a love letter to pop culture and the artist’s journey, set in a world where sketchbook drawings come to life and following the mystery surrounding four unsuspecting pop culture characters.

Lazy Love (Lasagne 365)

Lasagna and racist foot-lickers will collide! Apple’s and her crew pursue her racist boss to avenge her insult against so-called ‘stinky Asian food’. Meanwhile Toby sets out on an epic quest to acquire the best lasagna in the West.

Day Job
