English Dub Review: My Hero Academia: Vigilantes “Graduation and Career Path”

Overview:

Captain Celebrity returns to the United States, and Koichi must decide what to do with his future.

Our Take(Spoilers):

Remember how I was worried that with All Might showing up, Captain Celebrity would get little to no recognition? Turns out I shouldn’t have been worried because he got all the flowers, unfortunately for Koichi, since he also contributed. But when what you’re doing is technically illegal, I suppose that is a concession that needs to be made. Koichi slightly annoyed me because when a girl thanked him for what he did, he said, “Oh, it’s nice to be thanked every once in a while”. Meanwhile, Captain Celebrity spent the whole time thanking him and saying he felt bad that Koichi couldn’t receive more public recognition. We also learned that Makoto is going to study abroad in America with Captain Celebrity, so perhaps that’s why we don’t see her in the main story.

I was a little surprised when we skipped two years out of nowhere. Now Koichi is about to graduate from college and is looking for jobs. When his last All Might hoodie fades, he’s going to stop being a “hero.” I do wonder why he can’t be a hero now that his powers have evolved so much? Surely he could pass the test now.

There’s been no confirmation yet for a third season. If what I’m seeing is correct, then the third season should wrap up the Vigilantes side story. I would be very surprised if we don’t get a third season, but let’s hope we get some news sooner rather than later.
