English Dub Review: The Dark History of the Reincarnated Villainess “You’re the One Who Sent Me The Dark History?”
Overview (Spoilers Below):
As Iana grows used to life in the world she’s been reincarnated into, a young man comes to visit, her childhood friend Yomi, back from studying abroad. When Iana remembers Yomi, a character she created, she is left aghast. His role in the novel is to kill Konoha. If he acts according to the story, it will lead to Iana’s death. Iana tries to convince Yomi to stop, but it only makes things worse.
Our Take:
I swear, Iana’s world-building has become weirder and weirder by the minute. Of course, with her changing the script and preventing her own death, it has also become more problematic for Iana to ensure her happy ending. Unsurprisingly, her problems continue to grow much bigger, thanks to the arrival of a new love interest seeking to win her heart, Iana’s villainous childhood friend, Yomi Blacksarana. Unfortunately for the former villainess, Yomi didn’t just arrive to catch up with an old friend, as he’s also another character seeking to kill Konoha. Additionally, the episode reveals that Yomi is also responsible for sending Iana the Dark History in an attempt to erase Konoha’s mind. As usual, Iana has truly come up with some of the most dangerous characters for her to overcome at such a young age.
With this and the previous episode, the show has made itself clear on what its formula would be like for the remaining season. Iana confronts one of the characters or events she wrote from the past and attempts to prevent Konoha’s death so that she won’t be killed as well. However, with her being changed from a villainess to a kindhearted sister, she also has to deal with other changes that could test her memory of the world she created. One such case is that Iana must contend with a love triangle between Sol and Yomi, with the latter’s obliviousness and obsession putting him on a path to kill Sol to protect his soulmate. It’s similar by design, especially the episodic recap, and can be a tad annoying through the show’s pacing and Iana’s zestfully timid personality. Nonetheless, it retains the amusement of its concept through Iana’s deadly love triangle for me to tolerate her tangled-up situation further.

There's got to be some kind of twist that's going to happen with this. I don't know if they're setting up an April Fool's joke now or what's going on, but it seems too strange that they'd suddenly reverse on doing a fourth and fifth season after the show was already renewed and they were even just talking about working on those seasons like a couple months ago or something. Or maybe the two episodes yet to release will secretly somehow each be like a "season" in themselves?
