Our Take

Continuing right after the previous episode, this school trip installment delivers some of the funniest moments of the series while also showing that there is more beneath the absurd comedy. Manda being dragged along with the group is hilarious, and it is surprisingly sweet that everyone considers him close enough to be their emergency final member. The episode balances ridiculous situations with genuine character moments, especially as it gives more attention to Kirio, Aimi, and the complicated feelings surrounding them.

The comedy is at its peak here, with Aimi’s infamous meltdown being both painfully awkward and impossible not to laugh at. Her over-the-top reactions continue to make her one of the most unpredictable characters, while Nami once again proves to be the perfect person to balance out her chaos. At the same time, the episode starts adding more emotional depth, particularly with Kirio’s struggles and the possibility that his strange behavior comes from something more personal. Even Manda and Kirio seem to have more in common than expected, making their interactions surprisingly interesting.

Overall, this was another excellent episode that shows why this series stands out from a typical romcom. Beneath all the insanity, exaggerated reactions, and bizarre humor, there is a surprising amount of heart and character development. While it may not have been everyone’s favorite episode, it continues to build intrigue around the cast and proves that the show can be both completely unhinged and genuinely thoughtful at the same time.
