English Dub Review: Let’s Play “I am N00b”
A wild neighbor appeared
OVERVIEW (SPOILERS)
Sam tries to either avoid Marshall Law or confront him about getting her game review bombed, and accomplishes neither.
OUR TAKE
Carrying on from the ending of the first episode, Sam is now living next door to the very person who just torpedoed her fledgling game making career, Marshall Law. Unfortunately, due to her anxieties, she hasn’t really made all of that clear to him, so as far as he knows she’s just a kind of shy neighbor with a dog that doesn’t like him. So, the confrontation angle seems out, thus Sam should just avoid Marshall at all costs, right? Well, it seems fate has other plans, putting them in several meet cute situations that continue to whittle away at Sam’s disliking of the guy when he continues to be a perfect gentleman. Meanwhile, the impact of his poor review on Sam’s life is only getting worse, as all of his fans leaving bad reviews and reporting her on the game site have led her account being suspended, with seemingly no recourse in getting it restored since no one will respond to Sam’s email to the site’s staff. Kinda seems like a matter of time before he actually learns who Sam is and what he’s done to her, one way or another, but for now we’re building up a foundation between these two so they can have some romantic chemistry that makes all of this potentially more spicy.
We also take some time to meet more of Sam’s friend group…of which there are a LOT, and all of them get named in the OP, but I’ll wait to talk about any one of them in detail when they get more involved in the story. For now, there’s the fiery one who is eager to fight, the one who wants to give peace a chance, the one who likes sports games, etc etc. I’m sure we’ll get to at least one of them soon enough, especially since one of them is supposed to be one of Sam’s primary love interests, though if you know how these things are structured, it’s honestly unlikely that she’s going to end up with anyone BUT Marshall Law. Still, it wouldn’t be any fun to not see HOW we get to that inevitable conclusion, and this episode leaves us on another twist ending: Sam going to confront Marshall but seeing a hot pink haired woman in his apartment. Who is this, and how will she be revealed to be a fake out designed to raise romantic tension? Find out next week!

There's got to be some kind of twist that's going to happen with this. I don't know if they're setting up an April Fool's joke now or what's going on, but it seems too strange that they'd suddenly reverse on doing a fourth and fifth season after the show was already renewed and they were even just talking about working on those seasons like a couple months ago or something. Or maybe the two episodes yet to release will secretly somehow each be like a "season" in themselves?
