English Dub Review: Bungo Stray Dogs Wan! “Strength is Everything! Survive the Night! / Sigma’s Secret”
Overview
The Detective Agency and Port Mafia play werewolf, and Sigma showers his beloved Sky Casino with love.
Our Take
Picking up from the previous episode, Bungo Stray Dogs Wan! delivers one of its most entertaining installments yet, bringing together members of the Armed Detective Agency and Port Mafia for a series of chaotic games. The episode’s first half revolves around a Werewolf game and an escape-room-style challenge, creating plenty of amusing character interactions as everyone tries to outsmart one another. It’s a simple premise, but the cast’s personalities make the whole thing surprisingly fun, especially as their attempts at cooperation inevitably descend into the show’s signature comedic chaos.
The second half shifts the spotlight toward Sigma and the Sky Casino, which was a particularly welcome change of pace. Seeing Sigma back in his element alongside Nikolai and Fyodor gives the episode a refreshing comedic energy, while also allowing Sigma’s softer and more endearing personality to shine through. The New Year’s antics and other smaller gags keep the segment lighthearted, and the manzai-style comedy routine during the ending credits provides a fun final touch.
Overall, this was easily one of the most enjoyable episodes of this show so far. The combination of ridiculous games, character-driven humor, and a welcome return to Sigma’s Sky Casino makes the episode feel especially lively without relying on any major story developments. It’s a breezy, charming installment that captures the series’ ability to turn its larger cast and established dynamics into comedy gold.
