English Dub Review: As a Reincarnated Aristocrat, I’ll Use My Appraisal Skill to Rise in the World “Zaht and Braham”
Overview
A new push by the Seitz forces puts the skills of Canarre’s elite unit to the test…
Our Take
Picking up from the previous episode, the stakes have been raised as Borotz demonstrates his cunning battlefield tactics, putting Canarre’s forces in a difficult position. With the army forced to retreat, Braham and his elite squad step up to protect their comrades, leading to some tense encounters that test their determination and resolve. Meanwhile, Ars begins preparing his next move as the conflict continues to escalate.
The heart of this episode also lies in its focus on the two ginger-haired characters who were recently added to Ars’s forces. Braham Joe and Zaht, whose seemingly different personalities conceal similarly tragic pasts. Through their respective flashbacks, we learn what drives them and discover an unexpected connection between the two, even if neither fully realizes just how much they have in common. Watching their contrasting personalities clash feels almost like an odd-couple comedy mixed with a little trauma bonding, making their unexpected connection all the more entertaining and heartfelt.
Overall, this is a solid installment that balances the tension of warfare with some genuinely heartfelt character development. Braham and Zaht’s unlikely dynamic provides a welcome change of pace. While Borotz establishes himself as a formidable opponent, the battle hasn’t gone as planned, there’s enough intrigue surrounding the impending counterattack to keep things interesting.
