Netflix Celebrates a Decade of Japanese Anime with Major Announcements On Baku And Beastars

Netflix’s 10th-anniversary celebration in Japan, which takes place in Shibuya from September 5th to September 14th, 2025, brought exciting news for anime fans. The event highlighted Netflix’s growing commitment to Japanese storytelling and included major announcements for two of its most popular franchises, BAKI-DOU and the final season of BEASTARS.

BAKI-DOU

The new series, a continuation of the global hit franchise, is confirmed to stream exclusively on Netflix in 2026. A new teaser trailer and key art were revealed, teasing the next evolution of the series. The plot will follow Baki as he faces a new threat: the resurrection of Japan’s greatest swordsman, Miyamoto Musashi. The show promises a cross-era showdown, pitting the strongest underground fighter against the legendary samurai.


BEASTARS Final Season

Fans of the critically acclaimed coming-of-age drama were given a first look at the shocking climax of BEASTARS Final Season Part 2, also set to premiere in 2026. The newly revealed stills depict key characters like Legoshi, Haru, and Louis with grave expressions, hinting at an intense conclusion. Director Shinichi Matsumi commented on the finale, stating that “everything will be put to the test in this intense climax,” and that the story will pose a question to the world about living beyond the boundaries of species and the nature of love. The final season of BEASTARS will focus on Legoshi’s pursuit of the ruthless criminal Melon, whose past is intertwined with Legoshi’s family.
