Comedy Central Pulls South Park Episode Parodying Charlie Kirk
Comedy Central has reportedly pulled a recent South Park episode from its linear broadcast schedule following the fatal shooting of conservative political commentator Charlie Kirk. The episode, titled “Got a Nut,” first aired on August 6, 2025, and was a planned rerun for September 10, the day of Kirk’s death.
The episode’s main subplot follows Eric Cartman as he becomes a right-wing podcaster and “masterdebater” in the style of Kirk. The show satirizes Kirk’s “Prove Me Wrong” public debate format and culminates with a fictional award ceremony for the “Charlie Kirk Award for Young Masterdebaters.”
At the time of its initial broadcast, Kirk publicly embraced the parody, calling it a “badge of honor” and stating that conservatives should have the ability to laugh at themselves.
In the wake of Kirk’s death, some of his supporters on social media have pointed to the South Park episode as a contributing factor in inciting hatred, although the motive of the shooter remains unknown. While the episode has been removed from Comedy Central’s cable rotation, it remains available for streaming on Paramount+.
