Adult Swim Drops Episodes From “Family Guy” And “Robot Chicken” From Lineup Because Of DC Airplane Crash
Despite the fact that we live in an era where anyone can stream episodes of Family Guy and Robot Chicken however they please, Adult Swim has deemed necessary to remove select episodes of both shows that feature plane crashes from their schedule in light of recent news that saw a helicopter and an airplane crash in Washington DC over the Potomac River leading to the deaths of over 60 people. The following episodes have been removed from Adult Swim’s syndicated schedule as they feature scenes of airplane questions. Click links below to get full recaps for each of the episodes.
- Family Guy – “Boy (Dog) Meets Girl (Dog)”
- Family Guy – “Yug Ylimaf”
- Robot Chicken – “Happy Russian Deathdog Dolloween 2 U”
Our Take
The idea to remove episodes from telecast because something in the news happened is a years long issue that continues to be more asinine as the years go on. Not only can anyone watch the aforementioned episodes of popular TV shows at their leisure, but given that the average number of people who die as a result of aviation tragedies is under 300 a year versus auto accidents which are typically over 40,000 strong, one has to wonder when Adult Swim will begin removing episodes of TV that feature car crashes from their syndicated lineups.
Stream episodes of Family Guy on Hulu and episodes of Robot Chicken somewhere as I don’t even know if WBD streams that show anywhere anymore.
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
