English Dub Review: The Saint’s Magic Power is Omnipotent “Blessing”

Overview

Rumors are swirling about Sei and her theater date, which has her feeling self-conscious with everyone. Can she acknowledge her own emotions with a little help?

Our Take

What started as one hell of a slow burn has finally heated up into the long-awaited romance that this show finally needed beyond the reverse-harem dynamics of every dude wanting to get with Sei for one reason or another. Most notably, Hawke now had to get ballsy and make his confession known to Sei, the real question is, is Sei aware of the advances of these dudes or were most of the dudes before this too scared to make a move themselves?

However, I feel like all these previous plot threads of Sei doing things in this world, don’t completely lead anywhere and feel somewhat unresolved. For starters, whatever happened to the 18th prince and the status of his mother’s condition after the cure? Or the trading company/cosmetics side hustle Sei was involved in? All of it mostly felt rushed for the sake of a happy ending, but I feel like there should be some sort of closure to these storylines.

Overall, while not perfect, this season at least had a happy ending for the rest of the series. They could’ve dragged things out further if they wanted to, but reportedly, the show has finally caught up to where the manga is right now so there isn’t a lot of ground to cover for more stories to tell, unless they reboot the series a decade or so later like they did with the Fruits Basket reboot which at least had a clear sense of finality compared to this. But, I’ll take what I can get since I wasn’t too irritated by the results.
