English Dub Review: I’m Quitting Heroing “A Good Warrior Isn’t Always A Good Boss”

Overview:

Edvard is a good warrior, but that doesn’t mean he’s a good leader. Especially when he thinks his troops aren’t trying hard enough when they fail at tasks he can accomplish.

Our Take:

I like how the title is a bit of a play on one of my favorite Game of Thrones lines. “Do you really think warriors make good kings?” because that is in essence the issue here. What else it touches on is that skilled and privileged people can’t see how something is difficult. When they go to teach someone they just implement what worked for them. But unless that person has ALL of the same advantages as you then it isn’t going to matter.

Leo thought of a really interesting way to teach Edvard this lesson. Put him up against a monster he has never faced before and see how he fares. When it inevitably goes wrong for him Leo is there to rub it in. Not in a mean way but just in a way to see that is exactly how he treated his soldiers. They didn’t have the upbringing he did so they aren’t as suited to fighting something he thinks is easy. Great episode.
