English Dub Review: Love of Kill “Help”
Overview
With some help, Ryang-Ha and Chateau hide out in a tent under a bridge. Chateau is concerned about Ryang-Ha’s wounds. They pretend to be married to hide their identities…
Our Take
Chateau and Ryang-Ha are now staying in the homeless camp under some random bridge to recover from their injuries after Ryang Ha’s rescue mission which was easily one of the bright spots in terms of the tone of the series so far. Too bad they couldn’t have spent more time there resting and relaxing. But later on an argument, they both have intensified, it looks like Ryang-Ha has lost his patience which in turn is triggering Chateau’s memories so I look forward to the rest of their story.
From what I’m gathering in the flashbacks we did get to see, it seems like we’re finally getting more and more about Ryang-Ha’s backstory and how he wasn’t even anyone important. He was just a street kid who almost got kidnapped and his organs harvested if the previous Ryang-Ha didn’t try to step in and stop the two guys. As for Chateau, it sounds like her actual father (The one with the last name “Noble”) is some sort of fugitive and he’s been traveling with her the entire time. Except Chateau was being kept inside a large suitcase during their entire journey? What kind of parent fucking does that?
Overall, the chronology of their unraveling shared pasts remains unclear. It was nice to have more bits of comedy and chemistry between our leads as they’re both hiding out together in a homeless guy’s camp. Having sincere moments sprinkled in with Chateau being dense or annoyed. Ryang-ha’s cover story and her reaction to it were hilarious. At least until it abruptly takes a turn for the tense with an alley scene that showed the worst sides of Ryang-ha. Goading her into shooting him instead of just leading with what he was he ended up telling her anyway. I get that this is meant to rev up the drama, but with two episodes left, I hope they actually make everything come full circle…
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
