English Dub Review: Odd Taxi “The Hero’s Melancholy” “We Have No Tomorrow”

It’s business as usual for privately-owned taxi driver Odokawa as he drives a variety of passengers around the city. However, he’s not very good at car chases.

It’s business as usual for privately-owned taxi driver Odokawa as he drives a variety of passengers around the city. Sometimes he’s threatened and attacked by passengers.

Our Take:

We have so many plot threads out there and it looks like they are all going to coincide with the bank heist. Or as Dobu calls it “Operation: Odd Taxi” love when they do that. The character writing in this is so great, for an anime original, it really is impressive.

I was vaguely familiar with capoeira because of a character in a Tekken game when I was younger but damn I really want to learn now. Shirakawa absolutely wrecked the manager using it. She’s a great character and I definitely hope we get more of her in the final few episodes. She has made an amazing impression with her skills. Odokawa has a lot of mysteries that I hope get resolved in a satisfying way. I really don’t think he’s the bad guy we were led to believe he was in the early episodes.
