English Dub Review: So I’m a Spider, So What? “Who Is This, Geezer?”

Overview

It’s pretty clear that Administrator D is incredibly dangerous and god-like with her powers. But no sense worrying about that now! As Spider-Lady heads upwards through the labyrinth. All while dreaming of eating plenty of food, and having a new home for herself. Meanwhile, an assault by demonic forces has put the kingdom in danger…

Our Take

The pacing of this episode moved so fast that I had to watch it twice to process everything. And the fans who say the human side of the plot has no place in the narrative can’t complain anymore, as it’s now a mix between that side and Spider-Lady´s that makes this story so compelling to watch. The CG Spider-Lady scenes were quite well done, It’s weird how the best CG tends to be when there is 2D and 3D mixed in a scene, I don’t mind it at all tho. Oh, and the direction was still very good, some really creative storyboards, especially with parallel minds.

From what I can gather, the human side of the story is set 15 years into the future and the separate storylines between the Human characters and Spider-Lady, could potentially intertwine and to be honest, I didn’t see this coming at all but now I am a bit more interested in the human side of the story as well. The king and the others are going through sadness because of Julius’s death. Looks like they’ve already decided on the new warrior. named “Old man Ronandt” who is known as the “strongest wizard in that world”.

While I didn’t really like the human side of things at first, I will say that the progression between episodes has gotten more interesting for sure. As the plots are starting to connect and we are learning more about the world. The episode’s fight felt a bit lackluster because the sound design lacked some punch to it, although the CGI has definitely improved, and I’m compelled to see what happens next!
