Syfy Orders Additional Animated Pilots For TZGZ ; Magical Girl Friendship Squad Ordered To Series
While Deadline is JUST getting here, we’ve been covering TZGZ since last year. In any event, Syfy has announced a pickup of a half a dozen episodes for Magical Girl Friendship Squad following our critical acclaim for the pilot episode of the Origins arc that kicked off last Saturday Night. A few more episodes of the origins series are coming and then the aforementioned ordered episodes will air in the Summer of 2020. Two more animated pilots have been ordered:
WILD LIFE
Pilot order (15 min episodes)
Produced by Alex Plapinger, Valparaiso Pictures and Octopie
LOGLINE: A show about animal friends just trying to stay alive after the apocalypse. Together, they come up with elaborate schemes to entertain themselves and pretty much just keep from going insane.
DEVIL MAY CARE
Pilot order (15 min episodes)
Produced by PSYOP
Creator/EP: Doug Goldstein (Robot Chicken – two-time Emmy winner)
LOGLINE: The Devil hires a social media coordinator to rebrand Hell as the ultimate place to live, and the two form the most unlikely of friendships.
Most of the other programming that are on the way appears to be of the VRV/Mondo variety just getting linear viewing, though Purgatony, Science, and Hell Den are the exception. Noted VRV/Mondo series that have gotten the call up include Gary And His Demons, Brogan: Master of Castles, and starting in February, Cyanide & Happiness by way of VRV proper.
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
