A History of “The Simpsons” in Video Games
The Simpsons: Cartoon Studio

Developer: Big Top Productions
Publisher: Fox Interactive
Platforms: Microsoft Windows, Mac OS
Release Date: July 1996
In 1996, Fox released a different kind of Simpson’s game in the form of The Simpsons: Cartoon Studio. The computer program allowed users to create their own episode of the show using various tools and elements from television. The program includes 17 characters, 35 settings, as well as props, special effects, music, and dialogue performed by Simpsons cast members. The movie-making genre of video games was at its height in the mid-90s, and there was a lot of hype around the release of this game. Critics mostly received this game well seeing it for the fun time waster it was, though some seemed surprised that fans couldn’t create fully plotted 22-minute episodes.

"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
