The Paloni Family Comedy Show
These characters may look a bit familiar as they are the brainchild of Rick and Morty creator Justin Roiland. For a long time, Roiland created many pilots and shorts with much of the same humour we enjoy today. The Paloni family had seen some success on the internet, and when FOX was looking to fill a late-night slot after the cancellation of Mad TV, Roiland took a shot with a new series.
The Paloni Family Comedy Show was an intended animation variety show, showcasing much of Roiland’s outlandish creations. The Paloni family would host the show but, it came out as mostly a show about them. Eventually, FOX dropped the project after one short pilot was created, with Roiland stating that trying to build this show for primetime television was a mistake.
There's got to be some kind of twist that's going to happen with this. I don't know if they're setting up an April Fool's joke now or what's going on, but it seems too strange that they'd suddenly reverse on doing a fourth and fifth season after the show was already renewed and they were even just talking about working on those seasons like a couple months ago or something. Or maybe the two episodes yet to release will secretly somehow each be like a "season" in themselves?
