FOX Announces Winter 2018 Schedule Lineup: Animation Stays Put
Obviously, nowhere near as hectic as the Winter 2017 schedule.
FOX has announced its Winter 2018 schedule for its animated lineup which kicks off January 7th which is good because after December 10th, 2017, that’ll be a wrap on this year’s new episodes of Bob’s Burgers, The Simpsons, and Family Guy.
On Sunday, January 21st we’ll have the NFC Championship game, so no new episodes from any of the aforementioned shows will happen that weekend, so mark your calendars accordingly.
Sunday, Jan. 7:
7:30-8:00 PM BOB’S BURGERS
Bob Belcher is a third-generation restaurateur who runs Bob’s Burgers with his loving wife and their three children. Bob believes his burgers speak for themselves and isn’t afraid to offer a variety of off-beat creations. Bob’s wife, Linda, supports his dream but is becoming sick of the slow times, as the restaurant is constantly in danger of going out of business. Despite the challenges, which includes consistent harassment from Linda’s ex — a health inspector — Bob tries to keep the grill sizzling.
8:00-8:30 PM THE SIMPSONS
This long-running animated comedy focuses on the eponymous family in the town of Springfield in an unnamed U.S. state. The head of the Simpson family, Homer, is not a typical family man. A nuclear-plant employee, he does his best to lead his family but often finds that they are leading him. The family includes loving, blue-haired matriarch Marge, troublemaking son Bart, overachieving daughter Lisa and baby Maggie. Other Springfield residents include the family’s religious neighbor, Ned Flanders, family physician Dr. Hibbert, Moe the bartender and police chief Clancy Wiggum.
9:00-9:30 PM FAMILY GUY
Sick, twisted and politically incorrect, the animated series features the adventures of the Griffin family. Endearingly ignorant Peter and his stay-at-home wife Lois reside in Quahog, R.I., and have three kids. Meg, the eldest child, is a social outcast, and teenage Chris is awkward and clueless when it comes to the opposite sex. The youngest, Stewie, is a genius baby bent on killing his mother and destroying the world. The talking dog, Brian, keeps Stewie in check while sipping martinis and sorting through his own life issues.
There's got to be some kind of twist that's going to happen with this. I don't know if they're setting up an April Fool's joke now or what's going on, but it seems too strange that they'd suddenly reverse on doing a fourth and fifth season after the show was already renewed and they were even just talking about working on those seasons like a couple months ago or something. Or maybe the two episodes yet to release will secretly somehow each be like a "season" in themselves?
