Experience Space With “Cosmonauts”

Slovenian director Leo Černic—whose 2022 graduation short Pentola previously gained widespread international acclaim—is once again captivating the festival circuit with his latest 2D animated short, Cosmonauts.

Set aboard an intergalactic singles cruise ship built to commodify physical intimacy and entertainment into a commercial service, the 14-minute hand-drawn film explores the absurdities, visceral desires, and quiet heartbreaks of modern love.

Following its world premiere at the Berlinale Shorts and a successful run across global festivals, Cosmonauts has been shortlisted for the European Film Awards and is officially eligible for consideration at the Academy Awards.
