English Dub Review: Garo: Vanishing Line “Ring”

Posted on by

Don’t worry, you won’t die within seven days after watching this week’s episode.

Overview (Spoilers Below)

Gina approaches Sword and Sophie with a new job that sees the three infiltrate a house owned by some lady named Viola who has a powerful ring capable of controlling horrors. Turns out, Viola runs a sort of orphanage for teenagers who eventually disappear for whatever reason. The three go to the house, and right away Sword has to um….deal with Viola while Sophie and Gina search the house and learn about its demonic presence. Turns out, Viola, in fact, a horror and tries to destroy the trio, but Garo shows up to clean house.

Our Take

The overall premise was loose around the seams this week, but I don’t know if anyone watching this series is expecting a grandiose premise from the franchise as a whole. The concept of the show is simple…we meet some sort of monster and Garo shows up to clean house. Anyone expecting anything more complicated than that may be annoyed, but it’s refreshing to have anime that you don’t have to mull over too much and simply gets the job done.

Score
7.5/10
