English Dub Review: A Returner’s Magic Should Be Special “Judgement”
Overview
Having solved the conflict with the Esteban Barbarian Tribe, Desir and the others now must solve the refugee crisis…
Our Take
Picking up from the previous episode, we finally get a satisfying conclusion to the Shadow World arc, although the pacing feels rushed. The refugee crisis provides some compelling moments, and Desir’s knowledge proves invaluable in helping the group overcome the challenges ahead. However, the series could have done a better job explaining the Shadow Worlds and their connection to history.
Thankfully, the episode balances its serious themes with entertaining character interactions. Romantica’s relationship with Desir remains a highlight, while Ajest’s increasingly bold behavior leads to some amusing moments of jealousy. The group’s dynamic continues to be one of the series’ strongest elements, even if certain story developments could have used more breathing room.
Overall, this is an enjoyable episode that brings the group back together while leaving several intriguing mysteries unanswered. I’m looking forward to learning more about the Shadow Worlds and seeing how the story develops from here. Be sure to stay through the credits, too, as there’s a post-credits scene worth watching that hints at what may be coming next.
