Review: Future-Worm! “Robo-Carp-Alypse / The Reemen / Dr. D, Ghost Hunter”
Robo-Carp Zombies, monsters, and a T-Rex. Yep, sounds about right.
Spoilers Below
“Robo-Carp-Alypse”
Robo-Carp isn’t all that competitive in a local RC car tournament that features Twisted Metal rules. As a result, Danny decides to end support on Robo-Carp by throwing it into a river that then gets contaminated by a whole bunch of local flavors. Enter: Zombie Robo-Carp. Eventually, a slew of Robo-Carp zombies go nuts all over the place leading to mass hysteria.
All of the town’s kids team up to declare war on the zombie carps, but just when they think they’ve got the upper hand, we get Zombie Mega-Carp. This dude is a giant robot made of all the Robo-Carp parts that smashes through town. Danny tries to apologize, but Robo-Carp Infinite shows up and carries the ZMC into space and landing on the moon. Project Robo-Carp is back on.
“The Reemen”
Megan sets off some sort of cursed instrument that summons a slew of monsters from another universe. With the power of not being afraid and a Dyson vacuum cleaner, Doug is able to chase the monsters away. We almost lose Meg, but Danny is able to make the save.
“Dr. D, Ghost Hunter”
Spooky Jenkins brings on Danny and Fyootch for a new mission while Dr. D decides to join ’em on a Ghost Hunt. Fortunately, Danny is able to ease Dr. D’s tensions by disproving a bunch of paranormal activities with scientific explanations.
Our Take
“Robo-Carp-Alypse” was awesome, maybe one of the best bits of the season thus far. Mecha battles, zombies, and RC battles galore! The other two bits were good, but not great. While “The Reeman” finished strong, I kind of thought the “Dr. D” bit didn’t give me enough substance. Don’t get me wrong, I like a frightened T-Rex just the same as you, but usually the third act is reserved for something a little more independent of our titular heroes.

There's got to be some kind of twist that's going to happen with this. I don't know if they're setting up an April Fool's joke now or what's going on, but it seems too strange that they'd suddenly reverse on doing a fourth and fifth season after the show was already renewed and they were even just talking about working on those seasons like a couple months ago or something. Or maybe the two episodes yet to release will secretly somehow each be like a "season" in themselves?
