Review: We Bare Bears “Chloe and Ice Bear”

Chloe and Ice Bear are spending the day together because the other bears are home playing games. All day poor Chloe is trying to impress Ice Bear with a bunch of fun activities, but the big guy just isn’t impressed. Eventually we find out about a museum exhibit with an albino alligator and that sounds like something that catches Ice Bear’s attention. The two head over and get to the alligator even while the museum is closed, and just as it seems as though we were gonna have a throwdown, a potential disaster is averted, and Chloe’s mom comes by to pick both her and the now sleeping bear.

Our Take

I continue to be blown away by this series. And yes, it could be aggravating that we didn’t get all three bears, but I actually liked this Calvin & Hobbes-esque take. If nothing else, an episode like this shows the range of ideas this smart writing staff comes up with. Moreover, an episode helps to remember that we are in fact dealing with bears. For example, when the trio of bears are hanging out, size is relative, but seeing Ice Bear tower over Chloe when he walks through doors or holds hands, it reinforces the types of beasts we are dealing with. And all that does is help elevate the sweetness that is our main characters.
