Shorts Review: Descendants: Wicked World – “Careful What You Wish For”

Mal is, once again, painting in her tent. Audrey bursts in, with Jane trailing behind, demanding Mal to fix her hair. When Jane realizes she can do magic, she leaves to go lie down. At that point, Evie rushes into the tent complaining about her cupcake disaster. Jay momentarily joins the group to ask Mal to hold a (probably stolen) lamp for him. As he leaves, Audrey and Evie start arguing about who Mal is going to help first. Because this isn’t nearly enough drama, a new girl, Jordan, storms into the tent, calling Mal a thief for stealing her lamp. Jordan notices paint on the lamp and Mal wipes it off with her sleeve. Meanwhile, Audrey and Evie are still arguing. Mal notes how stuff like this never happened on the Isle of the Lost and, just as Ben walks into the tent, wishes they could go home. The whole gang (Evie, Mal, Audrey, and Ben) disappears in a poof of magic. Once they are gone, Carlos runs in to show them the new phone Jay got him. When he sees that no one is there, he snaps a selfie.

This is looking good for the series! Instead of a bunch of stand-alone episodes, there will actually be a storyline! It still kinda sucks that the story is only being told in two minute increments but at least there is a story. I would have been very disappointed if it was just going to be a bunch of one-off happenings. Though I admit that I do feel a little bad for Jay and Carlos. They are little more than cameos at this point. At least now there is hope for future episodes. Maybe the boys will have to save the rest of the gang! I actually can’t wait to see what happens next!
