That “Undergrads” Movie Isn’t Coming Any Time Soon

Recently, Pete Williams, took part in an interview with Vice that read as almost an oral history of his fabled series, Undergrads. The series, which only aired a few episodes here in the States but took a life of it’s own in Canada, has been teased for some sort of a return for a while now. Whether it was an almost second season picked up by Teletoon, a comic series, and now a feature-length film that got off the ground via Kickstarter, fans have been clamoring for something new from the Undergrads camp for a while.

Unfortunately, it looks as though, this may be a while. For starters, Pete tells Vice, that due to the pandemic and despite the fact that most animated series haven’t seen much in delays in production, that the soonest we may get a feature-length film is 2025. The film was originally slated to release next year, but now, it appears that is all up in the air.

There’s no telling, but of the MTV’s attempt at new animated series at the start of the noughties, Undergrads is still by far the closest for a revival. Though, with Comedy Central’s recent pickup of Jodie, could MTV studios look to get a few more of their classic IP for the nostalgia crowd anytime soon?

Synopsis:

Undergrads is an American-Canadian adult animated sitcom centered on the lives of four college undergraduate freshmen.
